About Us
First let me
thank you for visiting our website and I hope you will find your visit an
enjoyable and worthwhile experience.
Now, I’d like to
take you on a journey and tell you how we become Jim Barna Log Home
Distributors.
A developer from
Virginia and native gal from Mississippi, Dave and I met after retiring to
Florida. We both loved to travel and found ourselves on back country roads
exploring woods and hidden valleys.
Over the years,
we talked about moving up to the mountains and getting back to a natural way of
life we remembered so well. During the fall of 1997, Dave and I decided to
pack up our belongings and drive the RV to the Cumberland Plateau, in Tennessee.
We had heard wonderful things about the area and it was just what we needed to
get back to our roots.
After several days of camping in the park and surveying the surrounding
communities, we fell in love with the beauty and natural charm. Not only
did we fall in love with the area, but we purchased 182 acres bordering Fall
Creek Falls State Park. Our vision was to develop the land into a gated
rustic mountain village where families could enjoy a natural lifestyle away from
the hustle and bustle of the city.
As Dave and I
laid out the plans, we discovered bluff views, creeks and rolling hills that
were perfect for a log home community. It was at this time that we noticed
it was a grand view and
coined the name GrandView Village.
Within a short time, we had met
with several log home companies and distributors who carried a variety of log
systems. After visiting the Jim Barna Log Home plant in Oneida, TN, we
were convinced this was the quality of homes we preferred to build in our luxury
rustic mountain village.
I became a full service
distributor and have built three furnished log home models. Two are
located at the north entrance to Fall Creek Falls State Resort Park and third is
located in Grand View Village.
As a
full service distributor, I work closely with my clients to help them realize
their dream. We offer
our
customers everything from mountain property, standard and custom plans, free
construction institute,
licensed
contractors, and a resource room with many custom options available.
In
addition, we have
properties available from 1 to
5 acres in our developments and would be happy to give you a
tour of the Cumberland
Plateau. Dave
and I invite you to visit our models to learn and experience
real log
home living at its best!
Jim
Barna Log and Timber Homes is the only log home company that is exclusively
owned and operated by the distributors and employees.
